We are taking what is happening with COVID-19 very seriously, which is why we wanted to send this message to encourage you to follow basic best practices to prevent spreading illnesses and to inform you on a few steps we are taking to ensure you are protected. We are open to care for our patients. We have taken many steps to provide a safe and healthy environment. We are using a professional-grade surface cleaner throughout our office that cleans to the microbial level leaving a truly clean surface shielded with a protective barrier. We have a hepa filer in our waiting room. We are washing our hands before treating any patient. Our patient area is practicing social distancing. Since fevers are one of the signs of COVID-19, we are providing a free screening using a contact-free handheld thermometer to determine whether or not you have a fever. This will be a required screening for all our patients. This is very important for our older patients who may have a slight fever and need to be checked for the virus.
Here are the major symptoms: If you have any of these symptoms please reschedule 😊
Fever (there appears to almost always be a fever).
Shortness of breath (Don't freak out. Keep in mind that many people do have simple colds and flu (not Corona) with these same symptoms). Don't panic as cases of COVID-19 illness spike in the next few weeks due to increased testing. This is expected.
Here are some best practices we encourage you to follow:
Avoid close contact with anyone who is sick
Wear a mask
Do not go to work, school, or church if you are sick
Wash your hands with soap regularly, preferably for 20 seconds or longer
Cover your cough or sneezes
Eat healthy and drink lots of fluids
Use alcohol-based hand sanitizers if you are unable to wash your hands
A healthy immune system is the key to overcoming any illness. Most people have a good immune system and that is why Corona recovery is so high!
Here are some of the steps we are taking to better protect you: (We want to be safe and want you to be and feel safe)!
Hand sanitizer will be available at the front desk
You can wait in your car if you want and we will call you in
We use hepa filters
We take temperatures
We have increased our janitorial services, all tables are sanitized
Altering our services to ensure we don’t spread any illnesses (changing how we do meet & greet, etc)
We don’t treat colds and flu so our patients have musculoskeletal problems only.
If you have a cold or have a cough and fever see your primary care doctor, not you chiropractor!. (read below).
This Covid situation is temporary, but we are all feeling a bit overwhelmed, helpless, trapped, powerless and out of control.
Now is the time to re-evaluate our values in life. Recognize your feelings, don’t become them. Emotions are temporary, so is Covid. Reframe the pros and cons of our social dilemma. Yes, this is terrible but we can find some good in that we have time to consider what is really important in life. Faith, Family and Friends. Replace our displaced helpless feelings (like toilet paper hoarding) and other behavior with high value behaviors that empower us in regaining control over our emotions. Wash our hands, wear a mask, social distance, tell others you love them and miss them. Exercise, listen to music, pray, spend quality time where you can. Make a list of things you can do that you can control and execute them. Do whatever is important to you that will help you escape feeling overwhelmed, helpless, trapped, powerless and out of control.
As we mentioned above, if you, your spouse or kids are sick, we ask that you to stay home and prevent spreading any germs with others.
We ask that you join us as we pray for those who are impacted by the virus, including individuals, families, nurses/doctors, and authorities, as well as for God’s protection over all of us.
On April 22, 2020, Doctors Dan Erickson and Artin Massihi from Bakersfield, California, held a press conference with a local television station to release the results of their Covid-19 testing program and potential psychological effects of being in quarantine. This press conference was initially broadcasted on a local television station in California, went viral on youtube garnering over 4.3 million views, before YouTube took the video down, without any explanation. (makes you wonder about the motivation of YouTube, owned by Google). The two doctors, who own and run a clinic in Bakersfield, report that – according to their results – a higher than expected percentage of people are infected with the coronavirus, but that the vast majority show no symptoms. This is in line with other studies done at Stanford University and by Japanese scientists in China. If true, the danger of the virus may have been greatly exaggerated by the media, and shelter in place orders/lockdown policies could – through poverty, suicide and stress – potentially cause more damage than they prevent. Follow the science not the news! You can’t argue with data, you can only choose which side of it you are going to be on.
You can’t argue with data, you can only choose which side of it you are going to be on. Does Science have an agenda? No, but"Scientists," can very much have an agenda.
